This past weekend we had the wonderful opportunity to spend the day with Sujay Kolli and his family. This day-in-the-life segment will allow us to showcase this young man’s dynamic, infectious personality.

After sitting and talking with his mom, Radha, she shared with us her emotional journey of learning her third child had Down syndrome. Her and Sujay’s father, Naresh, implemented a philosophy of taking everything day by day. That approach made sense with a baby, but now, with Sujay being 17 and one of the members on the Novi Wildcat swim team, a volunteer at his local temple in Novi, Sri Venkateswara, and with an eye on college in computer engineering, this teenager who brings goodness and joy to anyone he encounters appears to be on a path in life that will serve him and others greatly.

We were treated to a fun dance demonstration by Sujay along with watching a competitive table tennis match between Sujay and his older brother, Saurav.

Our sit-down interview with Sujay in his room about his experience living with Down syndrome was so well explained, we knew then just how important Sujay will be, along with his family, to this story.
